Which surfaces does the painting cover?
Every interior surface a room has, from the ceiling line down to the baseboards.
Interior walls
Living areas, bedrooms, hallways and stairwells, cut in cleanly at the ceiling line and along the trim.
Ceilings
Flat and vaulted ceilings, including the stains and patched spots that show once the walls are fresh.
Trim and millwork
Baseboards, casings, crown molding, window stools and built-ins, filled and caulked so the joints disappear.
Interior doors
Panel and flat doors, door frames and closet doors, painted to match the trim or picked out in a contrast color.
Exterior painting
Siding, exterior trim and entry doors are painted by our roofing division, Roofing by Gamache. Replacing an entry door is a windows and doors job for the construction team.
Repair and touch-up
Nail pops, cracks, dents and old anchor holes fixed before any paint goes on, plus touch-ups after other work.
Color guidance
Help choosing colors that work with your floors, cabinets, existing finishes and the light each room gets.
How do we prepare surfaces before painting?
We clean, patch, sand, caulk and prime before the finish coats go on, because the prep decides whether a paint job still looks good a few years later. Paint shows every flaw under it, so a crack that is only painted over comes back and a glossy patch stands out on a flat wall.
- Walls washed where grease or grime would keep paint from bonding, which matters most in kitchens
- Holes and cracks filled, then sanded flush so the repair does not read through the finish
- Gaps along trim and casings caulked so the lines look sharp
- Bare patches, stains and glossy surfaces primed so the finish coats go on evenly
- A walkthrough at the end to catch anything that needs a touch-up

What customers say about our painting
“They did an amazing job of restoring the finish”
Gamache did an excellent job on some flooring and painting for us! … They also painted the walls for us. Our fiberglass front door surface was in bad shape from years of direct sun and a lack of maintenance. They did an amazing job of restoring the finish and painting it for us. It looks beautiful now!
“Painted the whole side of the garage to ensure continuity”
Gamache Construction did a great job repairing my garage after a corner was hit by a car and needed structural repair. Very clear estimate provided and work was completed in a timely manner. They even painted the whole side of the garage to ensure continuity. Well done!
From the first walkthrough to the last coat
A painting job runs through the same four steps as our larger remodels, scaled to the rooms involved.
Walk the rooms
We look at each surface with you, note the repairs it needs and talk through colors and sheen.
Written estimate
You get the scope room by room, the options and the price in writing before anything is scheduled.
Prep and paint
Repairs and priming come first, then the finish coats go on.
Final walkthrough
We go room by room with you and handle any touch-ups before the job closes out.
What affects the cost of a painting job?
The condition of the surfaces moves the price more than most people expect. Your written estimate breaks the job down so you can see where the cost comes from.
Painting as part of a bigger project
Financing is available, which helps when painting is one line in a larger remodel.
Financing- Square footage and ceiling heightTall stairwells and vaulted ceilings take staging and more time per wall.
- Surface conditionCracks, water stains, peeling paint and old patches all add prep before painting starts.
- Trim, doors and detail workRooms with lots of casings, built-ins and panel doors take far longer than open walls.
- Color changes and number of coatsGoing from dark to light, or covering a strong color, can add a primer coat and an extra finish coat.
- Furnished, lived-in roomsWorking around furniture and the way you use the house each day adds setup time.
Do you help pick paint colors?
Yes. We give color guidance that works with your existing floors, cabinets and finishes and with the natural light in each room, and we can suggest a sheen for each surface.
Can you paint trim, doors and ceilings along with the walls?
Yes. We paint walls, ceilings, trim, interior doors and millwork, so a room can be finished top to bottom in one job.
Can a faded fiberglass front door be repainted?
Yes. Sun can break down a fiberglass door’s surface over the years, and we restore that surface first and then paint it, which is the work Janice A. describes in her review above.
Will you paint after a repair so it matches?
Yes. After a repair we paint enough of the surrounding area that the new work blends in, even when that means a whole wall or the full side of a garage.
How long does it take to paint a room?
Room size, the condition of the walls, how much prep is needed and the number of coats set the timing. Your estimate lays out the scope so you can see what drives the schedule for your rooms.
